Proposal
- My target audience is going to be college students in general, hopefully it will appeal to all.
- My magazine will contain general information about the college, a map of the college campus, a gossip page about new fashion or new trends, possibly even stand out trends of the week. It will also contain an ask column which students can write into and it will be posted anonymously in the magazine. It will have information about universities and apprenticeships.
- For my cover line I will want to put interesting content on the front that will interest the student to pick it up. Information about either the hot gossip around college or information about new things happening.
- I have picked out 3 names that I am considering to use for my title. They are: SDC Local, "my Future" or College Life. I decided to use SDC local in the end because it just seemed like a name that people could relate to easily and be able to talk about quickly if needed.
- I want to use funky fonts and informative fonts to catch my audiences eye more. By doing this it means they may be attracted to the front cover straight away and it will draw them in.
- If I decide to use a tagline I will probably use "helping you with your future" or possibly "helping you on your way" because they will help the reader understand what the magazine is about and what they can expect from it.
- The magazine will be published in September/October time because this means it'll be aimed at students that have just started out and want to know a bit more about college life and what to expect from a college.
- I will be taking my own photos to use on the front cover, I want to be able to show college life and education through the picture as well as someone being happy and enjoying there time. I will take pictures of someone sitting down reading a book, and I will try to take a picture of a group of people mingling. By taking these photos I can edit them in photoshop and Indesign to suit the theme and to give it it's best possible outcome.
- I think the magazine will be published every few months, possibly every month because it will then keep students up to date with all their needs and it will also help them adapt to college life quicker.
- The magazine will be normal A4 sized, with the front cover photo stretching right across it, it will be like this because it is then easier to see and it means that peoples eyes will be attracted straight away.
- I have decided to use the theme colours for south downs, so green, blue and white will be used, and the background colour will be probably be grey. I will use pictures that resemble the articles so that people will find it easier to understand.
Flatplan
I have created two rough layout ideas, with the basics that will be put of the front cover, the colours will be changed and the font will be different on the final product. the bigger picture will be of a student and the background will most probably link into the picture background. The cover line will be similar to the title but not the same. The smaller picture will be of possibly the college logo or maybe the college campus, and the text boxes will be all about the content inside.
